* Justin Upton talks heated up in the GM meetings, with conculded yesterday. The team we heard the most were the Boston Red Sox, but according to Sports Illustrated’s Jon Heyman, the Arizona Diamondbacks are looking for Daniel Bard and Jacoby Ellsbury. The Red Sox are unlikely to part with those two, when they can sign Jayson Werth for just money.
Other teams interested are the Yankees, Rockies, Padres, Dodgers and Rays.
* Derek Jeter was reportedly offered a 3 year $42 mm contract by the Yankees. If I were him, I would jump on that. But according to sources, Jeter is looking for at least a four year deal, and maybe up to six.
* The Tigers began talks with Adam Dunn yesterday, and even thought reports origanlly indicated they were deep into talks, they were just preliminary. The Tigers are also known to be targeting Adrian Beltre, Victor Martinez and Manny Rameriz. It is possible they could sign Martinez and Dunn
The Rockies are interested in both Upton and Gavin Floyd and Kevin Millwood
Jonathan Papelbon is unlikely to be traded
Rangers, White Sox, Blue Jays, Red Sox and Rays interested in Miguel Olivo
Orioles interested in De La Rosa
Josh Willingham getting trade interest
Hey, I’m still here, I’ve just been busy running NLL Blog lately. But anyways, I’m sure you wanna know my take on the season so far: I’m not ready to panic. Yes, they lost to the Phillies last night, Lackey was bad, and they are only one game over .500. But the team is hitting, and Ellsbury is coming back. Beckett is on the DL, so we don;t have to deal with his crap for a while. Lester is just plain awesome. Youkilis and Ortiz are hitting. I think this interleague crap has come at a terrible time, where all Beltre, Youk and Ortiz are hitting.
Onto by daily Theo bashing, what the Hell was he thinking signing Beckett? I mean, use that money to go out and sign a guy like Jayson Werth, or Carl Crawford. I’m not thrilled with Francona either. In that Tigers game that went extra innings, Daniel Bard was not available. Why? Beacuse he pitched 1.2 innings in a complete blowout.
Onto some good news, I will be going to the entire series vs the Tampa Bay Rays this week. So I’ll have updates about that.
I made my before-Spring Training predictions, here are my Opening Day Season predictions. Plus, check out the player to watch feature which gives you a player to watch on each team during the reaguler season.

Those are my predicitions. My Internationl League predictions will be sometime next week.
Last year I went to roughly 15 spring games. I’ll go to about the same amount this year, I’ve seen Ft.Lauderdale, where the Orioles used to play. Ft.Myers, home of the Red Sox. Bradenton, where the Pirates play. Orlando, with the Braves. In Viera beach for the Nats. Lakeland, home of the Tigers. I’ve seen the Cardinals and Marlins in Jupiter. And Pt.Charlotte for the Rays. This year I will go to games in Ft.Myers(Red Sox and Twins) Pt.Charlotte(Rays), Dunedin(Jays), Kissimmee(Astros), Bradenton(Pirates) and Sarasota(Orioles). My first game is this Friday at Twins. It’s the first time I’ve seen that park. After this year the only parks I won’t have seen in the grapefruit league are the Yankees, Mets, and Phillies. I am right behind the Red Sox dugout for most games. Best seats I;ve ever had at any sporting event. I hope to get some player autographs. Last year I got Joe Maddon in Ft.Myers, and Cesar Cedeno in Viera.
I will see Lester/Wakefield Friday, and I’ll see Buchholz Sunday in Sarasota. I really want to see Kelly pitch this year. That would be so awesome! Anyways, I love spring training games. It gets you so pumped for the reaguler season. Go Red Sox! Remember to ask questions on the mailbag! I’ll post any pictures I get here at the blog! I had some I wanted to put here, but the computer is not coroperating!
I thought I would continue my 10 thoughts series with the hated Yankees. Don’t worry, I’ll go back to Boston teams soon with the Celtics.
10 Thoughts: Yankees
Thought #1: Prediction: Javier Vazquez does not even make the Yankees postseason rotation.
Thought #2: Notice how I just assume they are in the postseason?
Thought #3: As I stated before. Randy Winn…. Wow
Thought #4: It makes me laugh every time I read about the “Joba rules”. It is so stupid. Why does he have to have certain rules? He’s a pitcher, just like CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett, and Phil Hughes.
Thought #5: So the Yankees finally gave up on Ian Kennady. About time. Kei Igawa is next.
Thought #6: Is Nick Swisher their starting RF? He had a good season in 2009, but I would not expect a repeat of that. Amazing, most of his HRs came on the road!
Thought #7: AJ Burnett has a sick curveball. I sat behind the plate at a Red Sox-Jays game in 2008, and wow does he have a curve!
Thought #8: I was so bummed when the Yankees got Granderson. He is such a good player. They gave up Jackson, their top prospect, but Granderson is damn good!
Thought #9: Fun fact: The Yankees top prospect is C Jesus Montero.
Thought #10: I hate the Yankees.
